Pulsatilla accompanied by such a serious illness as epilepsy is unusual, I wouldn’t see this as a problem, because Pulsatilla can also have an effect on epilepsy.
Last year I was presented with a case of a highly epileptic child. This child was five years old, retarded and epileptic. He had already been given 185 remedies. As far as I’m concerned this child was given virtually the entire Materia Medica – 185 remedies is half of the Materia Medica. For some of us it is the entire Materia Medica because we don’t even use 185 remedies. What total confusion! All I could say was “Oh, my God!” Again, I pursued the same method of investigation that I employed in the case just discussed. I turned to the child’s mild character, to the fact that he needed attention, consolation, and wanted to be caressed. The whole Materia Medica had been given except for Pulsatilla, and precisely this is what I saw in the child’s soft mannerisms. Today the child is doing beautifully with Pulsatilla potencies alone whereas before he was under epileptic drugs. So you see, Pulsatilla is clearly an important remedy. If you need Pulsatilla, you have to give Pulsa-tilla. Later on you may see that this person needs one of the Kalis as a complementary. As you know, Pulsatilla often has Kali as its complementary, Kali Sulphuricum or Kali carbonicum. Silicea and Lachesis are also frequent complementary remedies. This is why when someone mentioned the Kalis earlier he was actually not far off the mark from the correct remedy. One of the Kalis may indeed be indicated later on in treatment.
What is the prognosis in this case? We have found the remedy and are satisfied. But what is the prognosis? What is going to happen?
(A.13): What about the cancer?
(G.V.): I have said many times that I believe cancer has an indi-viduality, a different effect on each person. There are cancers that are mild, benign cancers. I believe that this patient has one of these types of cancers. I don’t think that she has a malignant cancer because her operation was five years ago, and if the cancer were malignant, she would have had repercussions by this time.
