Classical Homeopathy for Anxiety and Jealousy – page 198

(using the overhead, Vithoulkas draws several jagged lines, one underneath the other, like several temperature curves on top of each other. The peaks of each line represent symptoms; each line stands for the picture of a remedy

Here we have symptoms. Big symptoms where the high peaks are, small symptoms where the low peaks are. The first remedy (= the uppermost line) is Arsenicum. But what usually is the case with us is, that underneath the layer of the first remedy there is another layer.

A Phosphorus layer for example. And what is the underlying layer doing? Some of its symptoms are popping up through the upper layer of Arsenicum.

But this person is not very ill. If he needs only two remedies to be cured, he is not sick. But if underneath Phosphorus there is a another layer, of Calcarea carbonica for example, then even this layer, the third remedy, can have one or two symptoms already popping up in the first layer. Do you see how this confuses the case? The picture is not clear anymore.

And if Sulphur should be the layer beneath all the other ones, and Sulphur also has one symptom popping up, then the picture is even more confused at the time you start treating the case. This is what we often see in the western population. We are ill due to several reasons. We lead a wrong type of life, not in accordance with our conscience.

You see, just examine yourself. How many times have you violated your conscience? Every time you have done this, there was a pushing down of certain symptoms, and another symptom came popping up. But why do we violate our conscience so easily?
