Eclampsia with frightful spasms affecting whole left side followed by paralysis. The eyes are fixed and turned to the right side, the pupils are dilated and insensible, there’s frequent opening and shutting of lids, slight contractions of the right corner of the mouth, and at times regular movements of right arm and hand at times. The skin hot but right ear cold. The inspiration is short followed by slow, sighing expiration Although a symptom such as coldness of the upper part of the body is noted, generally we see over – sensitiveness to cold and heat. A lot of symptoms are worse from over – heating, there is fainting from summer heat or hot rooms, with nausea.
Weakness after menses due to the copious bleeding.
It is especially suited to stout persons of lax fibre, where skin and muscles are lax.
Periodicity is a strong feature, making Ipecacuanha an important remedy in intermittent fevers. In relation with this subject we find this remedy very useful for cases with abuse of quinine.
Apoplexia nervosa et serosa with vertigo, drooping of lips, impaired speech, dribbling of saliva from mouth and paralysis of extremities. Cyanosis with spasms of chest and dyspnoea.
Food and drinks: Desire for sweets and delicacies. Great aversion to any kind of food. Aggravation from veal or other young meats, fat and rich food, unripe fruit, cold food or drinks, salads, sweets.
Head/Vertigo
Vertigo when walking; as if he would stagger hither and thither, with vanishing of thoughts for some moments, especially when turning round; a swaying of the body to and fro towards both sides, as from intoxication, with stupefaction of the head.
Gastric headaches, occurring in nervous, sensitive persons, commencing with nausea and vomiting; with vomiting of bile. Headaches worse from fat food, jarring, warmth, anger. Bursting headache with deathly nausea, tongue clean or only slightly coated. Pressure in the head and forehead, as if the brain were compressed by two boards. Headache as if the brain and skull
were bruised, which penetrates through all the bones of the head down to the root of the tongue, with nausea and vomiting. Heaviness in the head as if the
