Inflammation and dropsy of the brain
A girl, 12 years of age, was attacked with arthrit. acut. vaga. About midnight on the 16th of January, she became delirious and rest- less, sometimes sitting up in bed, at others lying down again. The inflammation of the wrists had ceased, and appeared to settle in the meninges; the patient was nearly given up.
Treatment was with Iodum solution 2 drops to be taken half-hour- ly, for one day; on the second day, hourly; on the two following days every two hours. On the 17th the consciousness was already regained, the right hand had re-inflamed, the meninges were free. Schmid
