Aching pain in the forehead above the root of the nose which compels the patient to bend the head forward, followed by inclination to vomit. In the morning in bed on awaking and opening the eyes, there’s a severe headache, as if the brain were smashed and crushed, it goes off on getting up and then comes a toothache instead as if the dental nerve were smashed and crushed, a similar pain then goes into the sacrum, this headache is renewed on thinking. Pain in the occiput worse from cold, better from external heat. Nervous headache, coming at same hour and day weekly, lasting forty – eight hours. Headache in highly nervous and sensitive temperaments, or in those whose nervous system has given way to anxiety, grief, or mental work.
Headache from abuse of coffee, from tobacco or alcohol, from inhaling smoke, from close attention, from fright; ameliorated by warmth, rest, while eating; aggravated by cold winds, turning the head suddenly, change of position, running, hurrying, jar, looking up long, motion of eyes, stooping forwards, noise and light, excitement, soon after eating, at stool. When talking and speaking much, a headache, as if the head would burst comes on, which goes off entirely when reading and writing quietly.
Cerebro – spinal meningitis with hysterical symptoms or complications, or rapid alternation of symptoms. Throws head backwards during spasms.
Eyes/Vision
Affections of eyes with sensation of sand under the eyelid and great dryness. Conjunctivitis after overexertion of vision with excessive nervousness, starting at slightest noise; traumatic catarrhal ophthalmia with violent pains. Hyperaes- thesia of retina with hysteria. Asthenopia with spasms of the lids and neuralgic pains around the eyes. Ciliary neuralgia, pains increasing gradually and only cease when the patient becomes exhausted, extending from eye to top of head, with nausea, and alternating with globus hystericus. Pressure outwards in the right eye, as if the eyeball would come out of the orbit. Intense, paroxysmal photophobia.
Flashes of light, from violent coughing. A circle of brilliant white, glittering zig – zags beyond or at the side of the visual point.
Ears/Hearing
One ear and one cheek red and burning, the other cold and pale. Music causes an uncommon and agreeable sensation, but also insensibility to music. Deaf- ness except for human voice; after mortification. Ringing in the ears before and during menses. Roaring better by music.
Nose
Coldness of nose with hot knees. Ulcerative pain. Soreness and sensitiveness inside the nose with swelling. Nostrils ulcerated. Cramp – like pain above the root of the nose in the region of the inner canthus. Above the right orbit, at the
