she had been given opium, and it always brought on worse spasms than before it was given. That time she lay in the spasms two weeks and did not recover sufficiently to be dressed for three months. She said that she remembered nothing in this attack from the time the forceps were applied to the tooth until midnight. I gave Hypericum 30, a dose every 3 hours, and on the fourth day she appeared quite herself again, and has had no trouble since.

Tetanus
March 31, 1891 – A managed twenty – four years stepped upon a wrought nail yesterday while assisting in tearing down an old build- ing. It penetrated the sole of the left foot. He has been chilly and sleepless through the night. The foot is red, hot, and swollen. Pain goes up the leg and spine to the head. He complains of a quivering sensation internally. There is a perceptible muscular twitching in dif- ferent parts. The muscles of the face are so rigid that he opens his mouth with difficulty. Hypericum 200 in solution, one teaspoonful every two hours.
April 1st – He rested quietly most of the night and has taken only six doses of the medicine. The pain and nervous symptoms are relieved. A perfect recovery followed without further treatment.

Injury of head
May 16, 1919, a delicate boy of six was struck by an auto fender and thrown about fifteen feet, striking his head on the edge of the curb. He was unconscious for a few minutes, and then walked up a step hill to his home, supported by two men. Put to bed, he lay semi- conscious with eyes half open.
Three hours after the accident respiration began to halt and then stop altogether, being resumed after a brief interval with a high, fee- ble cry. The face grew pale, pupils sluggish and a cool perspiration appeared on face and hands. The pulse was rapid and weak. By this time it was five hours after the accident and in the middle of the night. I dissolved one dose of Hypericum 1M. in 1/4 glass water
