Phlyctenular ophthalmia
Child suffering scrofulous ophthalmia or now, phlyctenular oph- thalmia. She was brought to my office with the head bandaged up to keep out the light; when we attempted to remove this thick veil she screamed. She couldn’t bear the lightest touch, or the slightest cold. An interesting thing about this case was that the child had, not only the eye trouble, but also chronic suppuration of the middle ear which had been going on for a year or more. A few doses of Hepar sulphur relieved not only the phlyctenular ophthalmia, but also the suppuration of the middle ear entirely disappeared.

A boy of six has had, off and on for a year, rawness and itching behind the left ear. He has a crack in the middle of his lower lip, his head sweats, he is sensitive to cold and is irritable.
Prescribed Hepar sulphuris calcareum 1m. and the eczema was gone in three weeks and has not returned. (Five months).

Haemorrhoids
A farmer, had suffered from piles for a long time, and was becoming debilitated from the continual loss of blood. He was almost inca- pacitated from riding on horseback, and even driving in a gig would often bring on the haemorrhage. Though a spare man, his liver was engorged and his abdomen swollen and somewhat tender. Hep. 6, three times a day. After the first week the bleeding ceased, and in a few weeks he was wholly cured.
