The result was that a violent chill was brought on with symptoms, as follows: Chill lasting two hours; chill commencing in lumbar region, and spreading up and down spine to extremities; chill with thirst; chill much worse from uncovering, even a hand. Desire to be heavily covered in bed. Hepar was given, which prevented the next chill, and in ten days she was perfectly well.

Sept. 15th, 1881. An allopathic physician, has been suffering more or less for last fortnight with swollen left testicle. Yesterday pain grew so severe he almost fainted took 1/2 gr. of morphia without any re- lief: To – day cannot walk on account of the excruciating pain when anything touched it; sore as a boil, if not worse, he says. Pre- scribed Hepar 1000, one dose in water, to be taken several times during the hour and then discontinued. In two hours was able to take a long walk without inconvenience. Next day reported himself entirely cured.

Pain in the small of the back
Woman, has had fourteen children, the last birth being sixteen weeks ago, when turning was done. The child was artificially nourished. The sickness lasted three weeks, and according to the allopathic physician was due to renal calculi, on which account he only gave opium drops, but without result.

The woman is strongly built yet is somewhat anaemic. Menstrua- tion normal. She complains of pain in the small of the back, espe- cially on the left side, and this pain extends over the left hip into the left thigh. The pains are often drawing, changing, burning, and are worse by motion. At times there is pressure to urinate; no precipitate from the urine, which contains neither albumen nor sugar but a little mucus and phosphates. The mucus must come from leuchorrhoea.
