bleeding upon opening. Chronic ciliary blepharitis complicated with swelling of Meibomian glands, or ulcers and swellings on margin of lids, painful in the evening. Chronic inflammation of eyes with formation of ulcers with pressing, burning pains as if the eyes were bruised. Acute phlegmonous inflammation of lids, which tends toward suppuration; the lids are swollen, tense and shining, as if erysipelas had invaded them, with throbbing, aching, stinging pain. Dacryo – cystitis and orbital cellulitis, especially if pus has formed with great sensitiveness to touch. Inflammation of lachrymal sac after pus has formed, with profuse discharge. Chronic closure of lachrymal duct by exudative swelling. Protrusion of iris. Staphyloma. Iritis with hypopyon or associated with small abscesses in iris (suppurative iritis); anterior chamber about half filled with pus. Violent inflammation of sclera after injury; sclerotica looks like raw beef. Ulcers and abscesses of cornea, especially for deep sloughing form and when hypopyon is present. Cornea dim, opaque and bulging, with a blister – like elevation as large as end of knitting needle in centre, forming base of an open ulcer. Kerato – iritis with ulceration of cornea. Red, vascular, elevated ulcer, like a piece of red flesh, at margin of cornea. Chemosis of cornea. Epithelioma of cornea.
Little pimples surround inflamed eyes. Eczema palpebrarum, where scabs are thick and honey – combed. Herpes conjunctivae bulbi; enlarged veins run nearly horizontally towards cornea and terminating in little blisters near edge of cornea, worse from crying. Tumors on lids.
Dim vision, while reading. On rising and standing up, after sitting while stooping forward, his eyes seem blinded. After injury to the eyeball everything appearing illuminated and at times objects appeared red.
Ear/Hearing
Catarrhal affections of the ear with an inflammatory condition causing a discharge that is foetid, greenish or bloody yellow, purulent, thick, with cheesy particles and smelling like old cheese. Ear complaints are aggravated from cold and ameliorate by warmth. Stitching pain on blowing the nose, external ear painful when lying on it. Hepar is one of the main remedies for chronic and acute otitis media with suppuration. Inflammation of meatus: the canal is filled with white, cheesy, bloody pus, the surrounding skin scurfy and irritated, little pus tules in meatus and auricle, wherever the pus has touched, and tendency to from slightest touch. Abscess in meatus. Itching in the ears. Inflammation of tympanum.
Hissing and throbbing in the front of ears in the evening on lying down before falling asleep. Fissured eruption behind and on both ears discharging thick, gluey secretion that mats the very sensitive to touch.
Loss of hearing. A cracking sound on the right side of the head after violently blowing the nose, after which the roaring in the ear of the deaf person ceased and he heard again a little (curative action). Whizzing and throbbing in ears with hardness of hearing. Whistling, explosion in the ear, when blowing the nose. Crackling in the ears, as from electric sparks.
