the body with cold hands, internal burning heat and stupidity of the head with great drowsiness, heaviness and weariness after lying down in bed, immediately heat and sweat all over, also without thirst.
In the evening and especially after lying down, burning heat all over the body. Frequent alternating attacks of general dry heat, then shivering and coldness.
Helleborus is useful in typhoid fever.
Continued fever with complete stupor.
Perspiration
Heat or sweat, with aversion to uncovering.
Cold sweats.
General sweat towards morning, with normal warmth of body.
Skin
Falling out of hair and nails.
Sudden oedematous swelling of the skin.
Elephantiasis.
Goose flesh.
Water-retentive swelling (hydropsia).
Causation: Suppressed eruptions. Blows. Disappointed love.
Teste groups Helleborus in the Chamomilla class, with Gratiola and Viola trie., all of which cause ‘…a particular derangement of the cerebral functions and even of the whole nervous system; a painful increase of the sentient action, followed by a consider¬able depression of the vital forces, and a certain disorder of the mental faculties.’
