cold, wet applications. They are relieved by opening windows to cool the room, by fanning, by cold air, and by cold applications to the head.
The most dangerous conditions that can develop because of this idiosyncrasy are high blood pressure, hypertension and apoplexy in the elderly, and violent irregularities of the circulation, especially around the heart, the head, or in the left side of the chest.
Bursting, throbbing headaches and sensations of expansion in the head and elsewhere are the most common symptoms, which are due to the surging of blood to the head and to the heart. It seems that the vascular system is in a state of easy excitation. With the congestion of the brain, convulsions may appear throughout all the limbs, the neck and back, with opisthotonus.
The headaches of Glonoinum are aggravated by anything that stimulates the circulation. With this remedy it is heat, strong light, alcohol and coffee. They cannot tolerate alcohol. They are better in cold air, of course, and in shade. They feel better in a cool, dark place. Even strong artificial light can make the headache worse.
You have to remember the explosive nature of this remedy. They are explosive people who can explode suddenly, they are temperamen¬tal. If they explode, they save themselves from having headaches. Their headaches will come suddenly as a result of an upset circulation. The blood rushes to the head and the feeling is that the arteries will explode and therefore the head will open up, and they have to hold the head tight in order to relieve the internal pressure.
I have mentioned their high blood pressure. They have flushes of heat which go towards the upper part of the body, ending in the top of the head, in the vertex. Another remedy which has heat on the vertex is Sulphur, but it also has heat in the soles of the feet, both ends of the body. In Glonoinum the heat goes up towards the head,
