Very severe headaches as if the head would burst; ‘it throbs, it tears, it stings, it burns’ (Kent).
Pressure as from a tight cap of lead on the skull.
Throbbing headaches in the base of the brain, spreading upward through the head.
Darting pain through the temples, with the sensation of blood rushing across the head; from the left to the right side.
Headaches with, or alternating with, pain in the joints; often combined with nausea and vomiting.
Painful soreness of the tuber parietale.
Sensation of heat on top of the head, relieved by pressure; with buzzing of the ears.
Head spasmodically drawn backwards.
Eyes
Soreness of the eyeballs, as if bruised, also with intolerance to bright light; in headaches and fever. The eyeballs are generally very sensitive to touch and pressure; it is a feeling as though one had been struck on the eye. Glistening and swimming eyes, with yellowish-red discolouration of scleroticae; in a fever with hepatic involvement.
Violent lachrymation, photophobia.
Redness of margins of lids, with glutinous secretion from the Meibomian glands.
Dimness of vision when exerting the eyes in order to look at small objects; the prover was unable to sew for a whole week.
Ears and Nose
Buzzing in ears, with heat on top of head.
Common colds, with violent coryza and aching in every single bone.
Fluent coryza, with sneezing and hoarseness.
Very sensitive to odours, especially odour of cooking, which causes nausea.
