Male Genitalia
Violent itching and herpetic eruptions, eczema, etc. on the male genitalia, especially upon the scrotum, occasionally also at the glans. Violent,
‘corrosive’ itching (‘as from vermin’), especially at night, disturbing sleep. Rubbing or scratching relieves the itching, but may provoke sexual desire and erection, or scratching hard is impossible because the skin is so sensitive, whereas slight rubbing distinctly ameliorates.
Itching of the scrotum, increased while walking, without redness or eruption. A red, moist patch at the thigh, next to the scrotum, discharging foetid moisture; with a sore pain on touch and walking.
Female Genitalia
Violent itching and eruption of very small vesicles on the vulva; touching the vesicles slightly relieves the itching.
Very sensitive nipples in nursing mothers. During the first days, nursing may go quite well, but then there is suddenly an excruciating pain from the nipple, through the thorax to the scapula as soon as the child starts nursing. The pain feels as though a string is attached to the nipple and drawing it backwards. The pain may provoke weeping and urge the patient to walk the floor constantly; it may continue all night.
Inflamed, hard and swollen breasts, with a similar pain from the nipple through to the back.
Extremities
Sensations of weakness in the limbs.
Croton cured a brachialgia, with tearing and shooting pain in the left arm, from the shoulder to the elbow and the back of the hand; the patient was unable to move the arm and especially unable to lie down because the pain was aggravated when in a lying position. Nocturnal aggravation, the pain prevents falling asleep; if he manages to get some sleep he wakes relieved, but the least attempt to move the arm causes the pain to reappear with great violence; much heaviness and paralytic feeling in the arm.
Sudden tearing pain in the upper arm, especially in the deltoid muscle, continuing for two hours.
