Difficult breathing; accompanied by anxiety, nausea, thirst, diarrhoea. Asthma, with cyanosis and great prostration.
Intense oppression of chest while sitting, almost amounting to fainting. Crotalus relieved an elderly hydrothorax patient who suffered with much oppression of chest in connection with unproductive cough and constipation; the remedy made both digestion and respiration easier.
Pain in thorax. ‘Pain under the left arm, drawing into the left side of the chest, most painful when breathing deeply’. ‘About the middle of the chest, a little bit to the right side, a sharp pain as if sore and a piercing that seemed to penetrate the sternum; worse on touch but not on deep inspiration’.
Heart
Weak heart and circulation, in asthma and other diseases.
Dull, continuous aching pain in the region of the heart, extending to the left scapula and down the left arm, worse on breathing deeply and on ascending. Heart aches when lying on the left side.
Palpitation of the heart, with sore pain around heart and a sensation as though it tumbled over; also with trembling of the heart.
Feeble pulse, sometimes imperceptible.
Stomach
Intolerance of any pressure upon the epigastric region and the hypochondria, cannot even bear the accustomed clothes, is a grand characteristic of this remedy. Feeling of pain in the pit of the stomach.
Violent vomiting of everything eaten for days, the stomach is unable to keep anything. Vomiting of green fluid; of bile. Unable to lie on the right side or on the back without immediately vomiting dark green fluid. Haematemesis, black vomit, sometimes connected with violent noises of gagging and retching; in yellow fever, blackwater fever, gastric ulcers, etc. Violent, burning, unquenchable thirst.
Desire for fat pork, even if it does not agree, but no desire for other sorts of meat; also desire for sugar and wine.
