Offensive, sickly odour of breath.
Heavy sensation on the chest, ‘something heavy seems to press the heart’; is frequently compelled to draw a deep breath.
Dull stitches in the left side of the chest.
In the lower part of the right half of the chest, seemingly beneath the ribs, a kind of jumping sensation, as if being made by a living creature. Alternately, in the left side of the chest, internally, a peculiar jerking pain as though the chest were being drawn in intervals towards the back by a thread.
Heart
Great sensation of emptiness in the region of the heart.
Anxious palpitation of the heart, with ‘uneasiness in the blood’; aggravated on climbing stairs.
‘Surging of warmth to the heart, with anxiety and some oppression of the breath, with an inability to breathe deeply although she is inclined to do so’; ameliorated by yawning.
‘A feeling of apprehension comes to the heart; afterwards a sensation of weariness which extends from the heart downwards as though the abdomen were to fall down’; the lassitude continues downward, all the way to the feet. Sensation as though a foreign body were lying at the heart; with painful and profuse menstruation.
Stomach
Tremendous thirst for cold drinks, especially in the afternoon.
Constant thirst in the evening, but nauseous feeling in the abdomen after drinking, with a pressive and tensive sensation.
Sensation like heartburn, extending upward in the throat, in the evening, with loss of appetite, but violent thirst for cold water; drinks much, and with relish, although his impression before drinking was that he would not be able to. Nauseous feeling in the chest and throat as though he might have to vomit immediately.
Violent sensation of nausea and lassitude in the region of the pit of stomach,
much relieved in the open air. Eructation, tasteless.
