Recurring epistaxis in children with blood of a dark colour, with clots, and fainting.
Face
Hot and glowing red, or sallow, earthy, yellowish, with sunken cheeks; but especially with alternation between redness and pallor of the face.
Heat in the face; she feels very hot in the face and in the front of the head.
‘Sensation of heat in the face, but without much redness’.
Circumscribed red, burning spots in the face. Lips dry, with a tendency to crack.
Mouth
Tongue coated white, but rather dry, in the morning, becoming clean after breakfast. Or, tongue coated white, and very moist; papillae much elevated. Unaccustomed feeling of warmth in the mouth.
Sour taste in the mouth; offensive odour.
Throat
Scraping and roughness in the throat, compelling the patient to hawk frequently. Posteriorly at the palate, a sharp and scraping sensation, which sometimes causes a tickling during expiration, compelling the patient to cough; before and after supper, but not while eating.
Sensation as though the uvula were relaxed and elongated; on swallowing, but also at other times; in hysteric conditions.
Sensation in the throat, as if from a plug being forced into the oesophagus. This is felt more on empty swallowing than on the actual swallowing of food; with a relaxed and elongated uvula and a pressive feeling in the throat.
Violent dry cough, exhausting, in paroxysms, has to cough for a long time until something is expectorated; much relieved by laying the hand on the pit of stomach.
Haemoptysis, ejected blood is dark, coagulated, stringy.
