Dr. Rosy Sethia presents a case of palatal abscess in a woman of 52.  After allopathy failed to give relief a homeopathic polychrest cured the case.

Palatal abscesses are often painful and potentially serious odontogenic infections, particularly when occurring in immunocompromised individuals such as those with diabetes mellitus. Conventional management typically involves the use of antibiotics. However, antibiotic resistance can compromise therapeutic outcomes.

This case report presents a 52-year-old diabetic female with a palatal abscess and premolar infection who showed limited response to standard antibiotic therapy. There was rapid clinical improvement with individualized homeopathic treatment using Mercurius solubilis 200CH.

Within three days, the patient reported marked pain relief, and the abscess resolved completely by the seventh day without the need for surgical intervention. This case highlights the potential of classical homeopathy as a non-invasive, complementary approach in managing acute dental infections in patients with comorbidities and antibiotic resistance.
