Case 5: Myelogenous Leukemia
INTERVIEW
(Therapist): The patient was born in 1957. In November, 1987, he noticed knots along his belly and over his spleen, then his right leg became very swollen. He was tired and had eructations, which seemed to stick to the middle area behind the sternum. He had very bad moods. Behind his left ear he had a constant pim-ple. He sweats during the night. The patient was diagnosed as having myelogenous leukemia and was treated with Interferon.
Medical history: Tonsillectomy at the age of four years; gyne-comastia of the right breast at fifteen, which was operated on when he was twenty-one; later he underwent an operation on his nasal septum. He complained about headaches and the feeling that he slept too much. He has very bad teeth with granulomas, not fixed. He has huge amounts of stool, he said, like when he suffered twice from change in nutritional intake.
(G.V.): How long ago have you had those sorts of stools?
(M.P.): I think you have to understand that this happened with macrobiotic food. Before I found out that I had leukemia, I didn’t have all these problems. I only felt my spleen on the left side, and I was often very tired, but that was all. I went to the doctor and he did a blood test, then he told me that I have leukemia. I was admit-ted to the hospital. Later on, my leg began to swell, so I changed over to a macrobiotic diet. After two months, I became bulimic.
