pains give out. There is a continuous sense of nausea with every pain. Ipecacuanha cm., 1 dose dry on the tongue, revived the pains at once and delivered the child within ten minutes.

Ischuria
Ischuria of the new – born infant. Mrs. H. was delivered of a well – de- veloped male child for the third time. On my next visit was informed by the nurse that the child s bowels moved freely, but he had not voided urine. I gave Aconite. On my next visit no improvement. I examined penis carefully but could detect nothing abnormal. Pre- scribed Nux vomica which did no good. I now gave Ipec. and on the fifth day of suppression the child voided urine freely and recovered with no other untoward symptoms. Ipecac. was the indicated remedy.

Cough
The two year old child wakes up with cough, suffocating, loses breath, turns pale, then claps her hands to her mouth as though she was getting too much air. Pull her hand down she would replace it to her mouth. She had many paroxysms during the night. I prescribed Ipecac 200 in half a glass of water, teaspoonful every two hours. Coughed only once during the night, very few times thereafter, as a result.

Spasmodic respiration
Effects of Anger. – Was called in haste to see Mrs. C., age about 38. After a family quarrel she was taken with rapid, spasmodic respira- tion. I could hear her long before I reached the house for she was sitting outdoors emitting a loud cry with each expiration at the rate of 100 per minute in tones rather expressive, as it seemed, of anger and chagrin. Suddenly the performance was interrupted by attacks of nausea and vomiting of bright, frothy, stringy blood, occurring in quick succession. She complained that her stomach felt as though it was full of mucus, which made her nauseated. Ipecachuana 1m,
