Carcinoma, nausea and vomiting
Dr. E.Charles reports a woman of seventy – three years, supposed to be dying of recurrent carcinoma. The uterus having been removed two years previously, the degeneration invaded the vaginal vault, bladder and rectum, and repeated vaginal hemorrhage occurred. Emaciated, with marked cachexia, weak pulse, clean tongue and sickening breath.
Nausea, since 2 months, worse when persons entered the room or she heard them speak, from motion, from thought, sight, or smell, of food. Preventing sleep. Vomiting intense from taking food. From drinking water. No food for three days because of this. Ipecac. was given. Retching, empty; hiccough. 24 hours later: had a better night, some sleep. Nausea waves were shorter and less frequent, though intense. Retained small quantities of jellied chicken broth.
10 days later. Had discarded the remedy. Eating any form of food desired, two to four kinds at a meal. No return of nausea until the onset of terminal coma, in October.
