2.The patient becomes nervous, overexcited, restless, with exces- sive irritability, aggressive, even in rage, attacking others.
The nervous system is so weak that it is hacking all over if the patient must meet an appointment or go through some ordeal; there’s a ten- dency to numbness of the arms and legs since the accident.
Great nervous depression following wounds.
MENTAL
After the stress – shock, immobility and stiffness are the key- notes. Can talk only with great difficulty after a mental shock; teeth are not quite locked, but is aware of the difficulty in separating the jaws; the neck becomes so stiff as to render any motion of the head almost impossible. A nervous excitement and a marked tremor of the body accompanies this condition.
The concentration and memory are poor. The intellect seems dull, with imperfect co – ordination. Confusion of mind esp. in the morn- ing on waking. Prostration of mind and weakness of memory; for- gets what he is about to say, makes mistakes in speaking and spelling, misplaces words when writing, omitts letters or words, uses opposite words, puts right for left or vice versa.
Delirium with wild talking after 4 a.m. while asleep, with distorted, staring eyes, dilated pupils, congested face and head, very rapid pulse, sweating of scalp, with dry, burning heat over the rest of the body and great apprehensiveness; once she ceased her talk and sang, but soon afterwards wept, screamed frightfully and gasped for breath.
Mental symptoms are worse before thunderstorm.
Generals
An excellent remedy for the injury to parts rich in nerves, esp. fingers, toes, matrix of nails. Crushed fingers, especially tips. Exces- sive painfulness is a guiding symptom to its use. Lacerations when the intolerable, violent, shooting, lancinating pain shows that nerves
are severely involved. Pain shooting up from injured part; extending
