But the tendency for paralysis is more accentuated in Dulcamara and the feeling that the mind is paralysed – unable to concentrate, confused, forgetting what one has just thought of doing, forgetting words, hunting for words, cannot express oneself – is much more prominent in Dulcamara. This loss of memory comes with a state of indifference, as if not interested in anything, and the organism may come to a condition of ‘stalemate’, and move towards an Alzheimer’s state.
If you can remember just this structural information, you will be surprised how many of your cases can be solved. You should not be over- loaded with details, but try to grasp the structure of the remedy first. Once you do this, the rest will stick.
If you suppress a skin eruption and then you get headaches, rheum- atic conditions or paralysis, you should think of Dulcamara as one of the remedies in case the person was aggravated by cold and wet. This is the key issue, as it is for Calcarea carbonica or Rhus toxicodendron.
