Fever
Coldness prevails in Crotalus. Cold and dry skin, especially cold extrem- ities, cold hands and feet, cold tip of nose, etc.
Shivering though the whole body, for example with diarrhoea or when the muscles are flexed; shivering over the scalp.
There may also be high fever, however, especially when there are septic processes. Flushes of heat, for example during menopause;burning pain in affected parts.
Perspiration tends to be scanty. But there are sudden attacks of cold sweat that are striking, and several times bloody perspiration has been observed. ‘Blood, in the form of sweat, exudes in great quantities’.
Crotalus may be indicated in many feverish conditions, if there is great tendency to haemorrhage and threatening sepsis.
Crotalus has a haemolytic action. Many cures with this remedy in yellow fever, blackwater fever, wound-fever, puerperal fever, etc. are on record.
