Natrum phosphoricum person’s consciousness. I have seen this remedy work in a case of Dupuytren’s contracture (a syndrome in which the tendons contract) in which I first prescribed Caus-ticum, without result.
Now we are faced with three possible remedies: Pulsatilla, Caus-ticum or Natrum phosphoricum. Things are not yet clear enough for us to be able to say with any degree of certainty that we’ve found the remedy.
(A.7): Where did contractions come into Natrum phosphoricum as you mentioned?
(G.V.): Contractions according to the psychological state. You see, Natrum phosphoricum has a problem – I have noticed this in several cases where patients did not complain at all about their problems – namely, they consider their problems too great to burden others with, even close relatives like family members and spouse. Concerning the child, I believe the problem started with the suppression of the eruption and continued because of the different antibiotics he’s taken. Both these factors affected an organism that was predisposed to this disease.
I don’t believe that the disease is very prominent in this child. If the child had not been aggravated by having his eruptions suppressed, and if he hadn’t taken all those antibiotics, he may not have developed the disease at all. This is what I believe in this case. The potential for muscular dystrophy may have been there all the time, but if it weren’t for stress, he could have gone through his whole life without having the disease break out.(A.8): What about Zincum?
(G.V.): No, I would not consider Zincum because we don’t at all see the agitation in the nervous system. He is too calm to be Zincum.
(A.9): If you consider the suppression of eruptions as the causa-tive factor in his paralysis, then Causticum seems very strongly indicated. The nature of the eruption was very peculiar for a child- pimples. Most children usually just have an itchy facial eczema.
