(G.V.): Were things difficult because of them or because of you? (M.P.): Because of both.
(G.V): Are you critical of others? Do you criticize a lot?
(M.P.): Yes.
(G.V.): Very hard criticism?
(M.P.): Other people say a lot, but-
(G.V.): Have you kept a lot of anger inside concerning your parents? Do you feel that they mistreated you?
(M.P.): At the moment I’m reading a book that contains a chapter on overcoming internal anger, which interests me a lot.
(G.V.): Do you care about your health?
(M.P.): Yes I do, and it shows in my trying to hold to a macro-biotic diet, which isn’t always very easy. I am also trying to be physically active.
(G.V.): What is your attitude towards life? Would you say that if you died it wouldn’t matter, or are you afraid of dying?
(M.P.): What is very important for me is the time between now and death. Death itself is not such a big thing.
(G.V.): You aren’t afraid of death?
(M.P.): The Eskimos say, “It’s just a second in time.” My primary fear is having to live like before, like a pensioner. I’m afraid of my energies becoming low,
(G.V.): Are you afraid of becoming an invalid, someone who is not able to look after himself?
(M.P.): Yes, and of becoming depressed and unhappy and walk-ing around with a sad face (mimics). It’s getting on my nerves. (G. V.): Are you an easily irritated person?
(M.P.): Yes, I think so.
(G.V.): What do you do when you’re irritated?
(M.P.): I try to be quiet, like right now. (laughs)
(G.V.): Are you irritated at the moment?
(M.P.): Yes.
(G.V): Very?
(M.P.): There are too many questions.
