Choroiditis
Madam L., aet. forty – seven, had suffered, for six weeks, excessively painful shootings in the eye – balls; could not gaze on any object without copious lachrymation, and in looking at a light she saw a blue and red halo around the flame; no alteration of the eyes; pupil neither contracted nor dilated; vessels of conjunctiva of lid slightly injected. Ip. 12 and 6 C cured.

Spasmodic oppression of chest
A student was attacked with the most violent paroxysms of spas- modic oppression of the chest, in which his breast was so violently drawn together that he screamed fearfully; his limbs were cold, his face red and bloated, and pulse almost imperceptible; he had slight numbness at times. Relieved by Ip. one – half grain every quarter of an hour.

Asthma
An old lady; a chronic sufferer from asthma; is frequently roused from sleep by an attack; she feels as if she could not draw another breath; has a loose rattling cough, but raises nothing until the end of the paroxysm. Ip. 200 relieved the present attack, and a dose or two a week has prevented its return.

Hemoptysis
F. F., aet. 39; tuberculous; after exposure to cold and wet, was seized this evening with rigors and dyspnoea, followed by copious spitting of blood. He cannot speak; is sitting on a chair gasping, and every few seconds brings up a large mouthful of blood, which is frothy and bright – colored; pulse small and frequent; respirations short and very frequent; face livid and expressive of anxiety. Ipeca 1 gtt. every two hours. Three days afterward the dyspnoea and bloody expectora- tion had disappeared.
