You will need to think of this remedy:
1.In tetanus – like symptoms such as trismus from whatever rea- son as well as in the beginning of developing tetanus. Trismus from extraction of a tooth, from a nerve injury etc. When this remedy is indicated you will find that the patient is rigid from head to foot, but the arms are movable. If the infection is serious, immediately after such rigidity frightful convulsions may follow. The grand keynote is that the patient has strong aversion lying in bed, because he feels he will suffocate.
This aggravation from lying in bed you will see it in almost all com- plaints. There is a perceptible muscular twitching in different parts. The muscles of the face are so rigid that he can hardly open his mouth.
Injuries of the coccyx are amongst the most serious and troublesome injuries, many times ending up in serious neurological disorders and epilepsy.
2.In epilepsy that has started after a concussion or even after an injury in peripheral nerves. These epileptic seizures have some characteristics: an excessive excitation of the organism after the seizure, with elements of wildness, with frightful screams, redness of eyes and face etc. In some instances this excitation can reach a frightening state of acute mania with the tendency of the patient to attack anyone near him by striking, biting and kicking. If you get a case of this type then Belladona or Hypericum is the remedy. The urine passes involuntarily during the convulsions.
3.In asthmatic attacks of a psychological origin. Hypericum has a kind of neurotic dyspnea with a characteristic aggravation on lying in bed. In order to understand how the condition of a Hypericum pathology is created, you have to use your imagination. It is as a tre- mendous pain felt after an injury or a shock that somebody receives and suddenly feels that the breathing has been arrested from the excruciating pain. Such is the nervous sensitivity of this remedy that the shock will travel through the nervous system of the organism
