Materia Medica Viva Volume 11 – page 2340

A cousin of the patient, a renowned gynaecologist, was the consultant who directed the treatment. Because of her timid nature I was disallowed the opportunity of making a physical examination and was compelled to rely entirely upon internal medication. After a few months of failure at prescribing, I began seriously to look up a remedy. Although I prescribed Ferrum on the totality of symp¬toms, there was one outstanding symptom, ‘flushing of the face from the least emotion’ that first led me to think of this remedy. It was prescribed in the 12x. It was not the potency of choice, but it happened to be the only one in stock at the time.
The improvement was so prompt and recovery so complete that the patient was able to go downstairs within a week, and inside of thirty days was able to do regular housework on a farm.

Case of painful delivery
First stage pains with red face during them. Pain is in the sacrum and rectum radiating down the outer thighs. Discharged dark, coppery blood with the first pains. Felt too weak to walk and had to lie down. She had had glycosuria with both pregnancies, cleared each time with that remedy most frequently needed for it, Helonias dioica. Ferrum met. rendered the labour absolutely painless.

Case of pain in forearms
I once had a rather pale lady come to me for treatment for pains in the forearms; after prescribing for her for a week, she let drop this symptom, that the only way in which she could get relief nights (when the pain was almost unbearable) was by getting right up out of bed and walking slowly about the room. Ferrum met. 1000th cured her promptly and she never had a return.
