Skin
Yellow colour of the whole body.
Cyanosis, especially of the remote extremities, fingers, toes, tip of nose; bluish-red discolouration of the parts, marbled skin, with yellowish patches.
Skin dry, stiff, like parchment; usually cold.
Ecchymoses, but also large suffusions and sugillations, with a blue or variegated colour of the surface.
Old cicatrices break open again.
Obstinate ulcers; panaritium, abscesses; necrosis, gangrene. The tendency to decomposition and tissue death is characteristic of this snake poison. A large, inflamed furuncle on the right upper arm of a ten-year-old boy was treated with local applications first. After removing them, he was prescribed Crotalus C30 per os. The next day he was much better, the following night pus was discharged without waking, and soon the cure was complete.
Crotalus is an important remedy in the worst forms of acne, with purple tint of the surface, bleeding pustules and doughy swelling of the affected parts. Stinging itching alternately on all parts of the body, but most violent over the shoulder-blades.
