Fever, Chill and Perspiration
‘All afternoon, chill with considerable thirst’. Coldness of extremities; cold feeling in half of the back, as from cold water being poured over it.
Violent feelings of heat over the whole body, especially in the head and face, with distended veins. The heat is sometimes coupled with glowing redness, but there is also a sensation of heat along with a pale face. The flushes of heat are often accompanied by a prickling in the skin as if sweat were break out; but the skin is objectively rather cooler than usual.
Two strange symptoms: shivering from the nape of the neck downward as far as the feet, but only on the posterior half of the body; with a warm face. Perspiration only of the lower half of the body, from the waist down, when waking at night; on rising, there is a dizzy feeling and a ‘sensation in the feet as from cold sweat trickling down’.
Skin
Crawling now here, now there, over the whole body; also sensations of prickling with internal heat.
Skin over the whole body scarlet red, or scarlet redness in spots.
Old scars start to ache again; they become inflamed and suppurate. Crocus may be useful in the cure of tumours, especially lipomata.
