The International Academy of Classical Homeopathy (I.A.C.H.) (http://www.vithoulkas.com/, http://www.vithoulkas.edu.gr/, http://www.vithoulkasbooks.gr/) is located in Alonissos, a Greek island in the Aegean Sea. It is the only institution in the world dedicated exclusively to the teaching of Homeopathic Medicine.
The aim of the I.A.C.H. is the education of medical students, medical doctors and other health practitioners in order to become classical homeopaths, according to the principles of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann.

George Vithoulkas established the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy in 1995, where he serves as Head of Educational Department (Educator). In this Academy, George Vithoulkas gives over the knowledge gleaned from his 50 years of his experience and teaches his most current theories regarding Levels of Health. In his teachings, he provides detailed information that both helps doctors determine each patient’s state of health, as well as facilitates their ability to estimate whether a case is curable with homeopathy and the amount of time and remedies that will be needed to accomplish a cure.
Every year, during the summer months, groups of doctors from various countries gather to be trained at the Academy. They come from Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, United Kingdom, Russia, the U.S.A., Canada, Austria, Japan, India, Mexico, Brazil, Greece etc.
9.000 medical doctors and homeopathic practitioners from 32 countries have been trained in International Academy of Classical Homeopathy.

The Curriculum of the Program of the Homeopathic Courses that is taught at IACH is the following:

Homeopathic Theory, Understanding the human organism in its totality, Definition of Health and the Measure of Health, Evaluation of strength or weakness of a constitution according to the twelve levels of health, Understanding the laws of cure, The Homeopathic Remedies, Case Taking, Questioning the patient, Physical examination, The meaning of “taking the case of a patient”, Live cases in long-term homeopathic treatment, The first homeopathic prescription, Follow-up of a case, second homeopathic prescription, Obstacles in the homeopathic prescription, Analysis of live homeopathic cases, Predisposition and the theory of the miasms, Acute disease and their management, Scientific Homeopathy vs. other homeopathic ways of application, Repertorisation, different techniques and their value in prescribing, Homeopathic Materia Medica.
The Academy uses the most modern video and audio equipment.

Since 2005 to 2008, the University of the Aegean in co-operation with International Academy of Classical Homeopathy, had been offered a Program of Continuous Education in Homeopathy for greek medical doctors, dentists, veterinarians and pharmacists.

However, the climax of homeopathy’s educational recognition in Greece has been the publication in the FEK (Government’s Gazette) (1912/issue b, 29.12.2006) regarding the authorization of a Master’s Degree Program at the University of the Aegean for medical doctors and dentists titled: “Holistic Alternative Therapeutic Systems–Classical Homeopathy” (a 2 year program- www.syros.aegean.gr/homeopathy ). In this Master’s Degree Program  
participates the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy and  Professor George Vithoulkas as a Honorary Professor of the University of the Aegean. IACH is responsible for the cognitive learning objective of this Master of Science. George Vithoulkas teaches to Master of Science through teleconference from the Academy in Alonissos.

In Ukraine, the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy is in cooperation with athe Kiev Medical Academy (http://kmapo.edu.ua/en)- a state Medical Academy with 85 year old tradition- carrying out an educational program in Homeopathy where the videotaped teaching of George Vithoulkas is projected.

The same is taking place in Russia where homeopathy is taught as a postgraduate course in the Moscow Medical Academy in the Department of Restorative Medicine (http://rumed.ru/). The graduating doctors get a specialization in Classical Homoeopathy recognised by the Ministry of Health. The lectures are based on the teaching material provided by the I.A.C.H.

Many of the courses presented at the I.A.C.H. by Prof. Vithoulkas are also available in video for use by other schools of Classical Homeopathy around the world. At the end of the course all the students will have to take examinations to get the homeopathic diploma of the I.A.C.H. Those that will not take the examinations or fail in them they will receive a certificate of attendance. Students from other sciences can be attending the course as observers, but they will not have the right to take the examinations.

Also, the teaching of Prof. Vithoulkas is projected through the e-learning program and video courses in Germany, England, Holland, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, India, Costa Rica, Colombia, Sweden, Egypt, Italy, Siberia.

In 1996, George Vithoulkas was awarded with the Alternative Nobel Prize (one of the most valid awards worldwide as described by the United Nations) for his contribution in the field of Homeopathy. In the award statement the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy is mentioned as the place where the science of classical homeopathy is taught and promoted.

One of the main purposes of the Academy is to collect and organize the bulk of the teaching material that has been taught by George Vithoulkas over a period of 50 years. The major part of the teachings has been video recorded (approx. 5.000 hours of teaching).

Our vision is the IACH to become a foundation which will promote the correct teaching of Classical Homeopathy, organize international meetings, promote research, inform doctors & patients for its possibilities and honor the best research projects as well as the best homeopaths from all over the world.
